Costa Dulce Radio privacy policy
Costa Dulce Radio is an Android and iPhone app, developed by Kanku Software Solutions, to listen to Costa Dulce FM live and read the news from its website. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what rights you have.

Data controller
The controller of the data described in this policy is Kanku Software Solutions. You can reach us at info@kankusoft.com. The name and content of Costa Dulce FM belong to their owners; the station’s website, which provides the news and manages user accounts and comments, is a third-party service with its own privacy policy.
Summary
- The app uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to obtain technical usage statistics.
- If you accept notifications, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) to send them to you.
- The app shows no advertising. Its integration with ad services exists in the code but is disabled.
- Creating an account is optional and only serves to comment on news.
- Saved news, the alert history and settings are stored on your device.
What data is handled
- Technical and usage data (Firebase Analytics): installation and device identifiers, device model and system version, language, approximate country or region derived from the connection, app version, screens viewed and usage events. On Android the device advertising ID may also be involved, as the app declares that permission.
- Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging): a messaging token tied to your installation and the subscription to the station’s general alerts topic. You are not asked for a name or email to receive them.
- Account data (optional): if you create an account or sign in, your username, email address and password are sent to the station’s website server, which manages the account. Your name and email are stored on your device to show them in the app; the password is not stored.
- Comments: the text you post on a news item is sent to the station’s website and may be publicly visible there.
- Technical connection data: when loading the radio, the news, weather information or municipal information, each service’s servers receive your IP address and the usual technical data of any request.
- Data on your device: saved news, recent searches, history of alerts received, light or dark theme, autoplay and session data. It stays on the device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

In the current version of the app, Firebase Analytics does not show its own consent prompt: it is active when you use the app. If you prefer not to take part, you can reset or limit the advertising ID in your device settings, or contact us to exercise your right to object.
Third parties and recipients
- Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging): provider that processes technical data and the notification token on our behalf. More information at policies.google.com/privacy and firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- The station’s website (WordPress): source of the news and the service that manages accounts and comments.
- The station’s streaming service: receives the device’s IP address when you play the broadcast.
- External information services: the app queries a third-party weather service and a municipal information page, which receive the IP address and technical data of the request.
- Vimeo and other embedded video players: if you open a video, the relevant provider may process your data under its own policy.
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
International transfers
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. These transfers rely on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.
Retention
Firebase data is kept for the retention periods configured in the service and then deleted or anonymised. Account data and comments are kept while you keep the account; you can delete it from the app. Local data is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
App permissions
- Internet: required to play the radio and load the news.
- Notifications: to show you alerts. You can deny or turn them off in the app or in system settings.
- Background playback (foreground service on Android and audio mode on iOS): so the radio keeps playing with the screen off.
- Advertising ID (Android): declared by the Google services included in the app. You can reset or remove it in Android settings.
- Android Auto: lets you control the station from the vehicle display; it requires no additional permissions over your personal data.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, and withdraw any consent you gave at any time, by writing to info@kankusoft.com. For account data or comments hosted on the station’s website, you can also contact its owner.
If you believe we are not handling your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.es.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles data (for example, if advertising or CarPlay is enabled), we will update this page and state the date of the last update.
