What Cámara Forense does
- Visible mark on the image
- Date and time, GPS coordinates, altitude and investigator are stamped on the photo and also included in its EXIF metadata.
- SHA-256 hash
- The image hash is computed right after capture, so any later alteration can be detected.
- Signed control document
- It records who, why, when, where and how, and is signed with an ECDSA P-256 key that lives in the Secure Enclave and never leaves the chip. If the device has no Secure Enclave, the document says so.
- Encrypted package
- Each piece of evidence also produces a package encrypted with AES-256-GCM as a local backup copy; the key is kept in the device keychain.
- Protected access
- The app opens with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode.
- Export for verification
- Export the photo, the control document, the signature and the public key so anyone can check integrity with standard tools such as OpenSSL.
- No accounts, no servers
- Evidence is stored only in the app’s private space and excluded from backups. No ads, analytics or third-party SDKs.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Cámara Forense has no accounts and no servers of its own: evidence stays on your device.
Is it ISO 27037 certified?
No. The app follows digital chain-of-custody good practices inspired by the ISO 27037 guidelines, but it holds no certification.
Is evidence backed up?
No: it is excluded from iCloud and computer backups so it never leaves the device. If you lose or restore the device it cannot be recovered; export what matters.
Can I verify evidence outside the app?
Yes. “Export for Verification” hands over the photo, control document, signature and public key, which can be checked with standard tools such as OpenSSL.
What does it do with my data?
Nothing: {owner} neither receives nor has access to it. It is explained in the app’s privacy policy.
Cámara Forense is a support tool for gathering evidence. It does not replace the advice of an expert witness and does not by itself guarantee the legal validity of evidence in any particular proceeding. The app follows ISO 27037 good practices but is not certified.
