Live Photo Utility privacy policy
Live Photo Utility is an iPhone app by Kanku Software Solutions to review Live Photos, export their motion as video or GIF, convert them to still photos and review duplicates and screenshots. This policy explains what data the app handles and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Summary
- All processing happens on your device. Your photos, videos and library data are not uploaded to any server.
- Kankusoft runs no servers of its own for the app, does not receive your data and has no access to it.
- The app has no user accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and includes no third-party SDKs of that kind.
- Nothing moves to Recently Deleted without your explicit confirmation.

Photos permission
The app requests Photos access to find Live Photos, screenshots and possible duplicates, analyse them, export their motion, create still photos, save only the exports you choose, and move to Recently Deleted only what you confirm. You can grant full access or Limited access: with limited access the app only sees the photos you select. You can change or withdraw the permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases with Apple
Pro is an optional in-app purchase handled through StoreKit. Payment, billing, restoration and refunds are managed by Apple under its privacy policy; Kankusoft does not receive your payment details or send them to any server of its own.
iCloud
Storage estimates are calculated on device from the Photos resources available locally. The app does not download iCloud-only media to calculate those estimates. If you start an export or conversion that needs the original, the system may download it from iCloud to complete it.
Exports
When you export a video or a GIF, you decide where it is saved and which app you share it with; from then on, how it is handled depends on that app or service. The exported copy may keep metadata such as the capture date and location, so check it before sharing.
Retention and deletion
The app’s local data (operation history and usage status) stays on your device until it is deleted or you uninstall the app. Items you delete with the app move to Recently Deleted, where Apple Photos controls their retention and recovery. Kankusoft keeps no data about you.
Security
Because everything is processed on your device and there are no servers of our own, your photos are never transmitted to Kankusoft. Local data is protected by the security measures of iOS and your device, such as the passcode.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Since Kankusoft neither receives nor keeps your data, these rights are largely exercised from your own device (for example, by withdrawing the Photos permission or uninstalling the app). If you have any question, write to info@kankusoft.com.
If you believe the handling of your data does not comply with the rules, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Children
The app does not collect data from any user, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and state the date of the last update.
